Sustainability & ESG

Powering Ghana Responsibly.

At Explorco, sustainability is embedded in how we plan, operate, and grow. We balance energy security with environmental stewardship, shared prosperity, and strong governance so value created today endures for generations.

Core Pillars

We minimize our footprint across the full E&P lifecycle—prioritising emissions reduction, spill prevention, water protection, and biodiversity.

  • Focus areas: GHG reduction, methane management, flaring minimization, waste & water, biodiversity

  • Key initiatives: Leak Detection & Repair (LDAR), energy-efficient equipment, flaring abatement, waste segregation & recycling, site biodiversity plans

  • Outcomes: Fewer incidents, lower emissions intensity, better resource efficiency

We create lasting benefits through jobs, skills, safety, and community partnerships.

  • Focus areas: HSE culture, workforce development, supplier localization, community investments, human rights

  • Key initiatives: Safety leadership training, scholarships & STEM programs, local supplier onboarding & mentoring, community health & livelihood projects

  • Outcomes: Safer workplaces, skilled local talent, thriving host communities

Sound governance underpins everything we do.

  • Focus areas: Board oversight, risk & compliance, anti-corruption, data integrity, transparent reporting

  • Key initiatives: Code of Conduct & anti-bribery training, incident & risk registers, internal audits, whistleblowing channels, ESG reporting alignment

  • Outcomes: Accountability, resilience, stakeholder trust

Safety is non-negotiable—every task, every day.

  • Commitment: “Zero harm” mindset; we design for safety, train for excellence, and learn from every event.

  • Key practices: Permit-to-Work, contractor HSE onboarding, emergency response drills, near-miss reporting culture, management of change (MoC)

We support Ghana’s energy needs while lowering carbon intensity.

  • Pathways: Efficiency upgrades, electrification where feasible, methane controls, renewable integration for auxiliary loads, carbon-aware project screening

  • Planning: Scenario analysis, marginal abatement cost curves, portfolio optimization
